Bono Mack, Ruiz enter final campaign push

With Election Day fast approaching, Rep. Mary Bono Mack and Democratic challenger Raul Ruiz are trying to secure every last vote.

Bono Mack, a Palm Springs Republican, took to Facebook today to announce that there’s an effort called “Democrats for Mary.” She also posted a letter signed by five Democrats across the 36th Congressional district who plan on supporting her re-election bid.

“Mary Bono Mack is a top advocate for small business, the economic backbone of our region, and has become a leader in Congress at passing legislation to protect consumers and create jobs,” it read.

Ruiz’s campaign announced that the emergency room physician is getting some help with the Latino voter outreach effort.

Ruiz on Tuesday will be formally endorsed by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, who will also throw his support behind 41st Congressional District candidate Mark Takano during a rally in Los Angeles.

Neither Bono Mack nor Ruiz announced any public events today.

Election Day is next Tuesday, Nov. 6.
