Rep. Mary Bono Mack launched her first television ad of the general election cycle today.
The 30-second ad, titled “Effective,” touts the Palm Springs Republican’s legislative efforts.
It never mentions her Democratic challenger Raul Ruiz, who kicked off his campaign one year ago today.
Officials with national Democratic groups, including Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, are using email and Twitter to mock the ad because one of the legislative highlights is a post office renaming.
Bono Mack in 2010 got the post office on Portola Avenue in Palm Desert renamed after the late Riverside County Supervisor Roy Wilson.
Ruiz started advertising on television on Sept. 4. So far, the emergency room physician from Palm Desert has released two English ads and two Spanish ads.
Both Ruiz and Bono Mack are speaking with voters today.
Ruiz is headlining four different events across the Coachella Valley for his campaign. Bono Mack is in Denver today, headlining an event for Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney before heading to Washington for the House session.
