Gingrich to stump in California

Gingrich will headline an event during the California Republican Party’s upcoming convention in San Francisco, officials announced today.
“Speaker Gingrich’s appearance at this month’s convention illustrates the importance of California as a key Primary state this election cycle,” said Eric Beach, Gingrich’s California finance chairman, said in a statement.
“There are more delegates in California than have been awarded in all of the other states’ primaries to date.”
No word yet on whether former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, the frontrunner for the party’s presidential nomination, will be attending the event.
The convention runs Feb. 24-26. California’s presidential primary is June 5.
